It’s pretty good. Honestly appreciate it for not trying to be more than it’s really supposed to be. This movie is all about exchange. Exchange of fluids, money, emotions, drugs. It starts simple enough with beers, and escalates to bath water. There’s more than that, but it would be a spoiler. The pervasive nature of the film leads me to quickly feel it’s for the Game of Thrones and Euphoria crowd. It’s purely reliant on shocking you in some sexual way. The difference being how intentional this movie makes those moments. Hard to not spoil anything. Most of my complaints are how it tends to drag certain parts out, the twists are predictable, some things are not that shocking once you see through the silver lining and laugh at how it comes off that it’s making fun of people like this. A small change in perspective allows you view this as a comedy that insults people like Oliver. The writing isn’t super clever, but this movie was quite literally intended to just be shocking. And I don’t really support that kind of stuff as it comes off as cliche at this point. No surprise that Amazon picked up this movie with their whole thing now being about grossing people out for views. Hoping people see through it some day. The cinematography and acting is gorgeous otherwise. Just not my flavor these days.
