This is one of the most wholesome and heartbreaking documentaries of the year. It’s either that or another case of Tiger King where they assume an innocent women killed her husband and had the world convinced for at least a month. Seems to be hard to look at it that way when Bob’s own son is telling most of the story. It starts off with the origin story that’ll make you cry happy tears. Because everyone loves Bob Ross. It doesn’t stay that way though. I have to say before I get to that part, it really does dive into his origin. I was hooked and found a larger respect that I didn’t know I could have for him. The amount of love that man had and have to the world is a true inspiration and gift. Besides that, we see a sadder, dare I say “darker”, and intense side of it all leading up to his death bed. And it’s all pretty crazy already from the get go too this man didn’t have a very easy life it seemed. The epilogue is what truly made me cry when you see the aftermath of his death and how it impacted the world and the people closest to him. In the good and bad ways. The bad ways truly make you wanna cry. Hearing the son continue a legacy on how own and the story that still isn’t over. I’m under the impression any day people will flip over this movie. I’d watch this again for sure. I had so much fun watching, but now I wonder how the story will continue. And I hate to be morbid, but will it continue before anyone else dies? We’ll find out I guess 🤷🏻‍♂️ 10/10
