I saw this movie as soon as it came out on Amazon and decided to revisit it because first time I found it absolutely hilarious. And I was curious if my opinion would change on a second watch. Happy to report that I still think this movie is fucking hilarious. The fact Borat has to hide in plain sight as a different character for half the movie is telling of his legacy and the world we live in today. His daughter adds this new sense of problematic as well that just makes so many moments so much funnier. They also use this opportunity to show the true colors of Americans such as politicians and the everyday people. Pushing the boundaries of doing a hidden sort of comedy where the butt of the joke has no idea what the severity of the joke brings. Because while we laugh at some of these moment it hits me that they’re funny because there’s nothing else to do but laugh at the absurdity of the world we live in. And that’s without spoiling any good moments this movie has because if you enjoyed Borat’s first movie this is a no brainer. This movie is much funnier and has this almost clear message. Sacha shines in this movie. 9/10 go watch this.
