I wanna give this movie a ten. I wanna give this movie a ten. Dune is one of the most beautiful movies you’ll look at this year. Just like how Avatar set the bar for CGI for its time, I believe Dune sets a new one. Every scene was just gorgeous to look at. The writing has some cheese in it but that was like two moments. And when you remember when the book was written it’s just classic movie tropes. Giving you more questions rather than answers. When Tenet came out I was so angry about all of that fuckin exposition, this movie creates wonder but almost choosing to not give you any. I feel not know everything about what’s going on and why really made it hit harder for me. The choreography was very tasteful to, in a time where we settle for something generic and cookie cutter. It felt fresh at times, raw, short and to the point. You don’t see that a lot these days and applaud them for tasteful work. Beyond even that the actors were incredible. Some characters truly terrified me and I loved watching Bautista put people in a line to cut their heads off. The scale of everything in this movie is incredible. The intensity of it all makes me excited for this second movie it clearly wants me to watch. And I’m sure that’s gonna be a pretty lame complaint because besides how it ends, it could totally stand on its own if it had a conclusion to it all. The problem is that there is no conclusion. You spent two and a half hours to watch chapter one. It’s a very beautiful and enjoyable two and a half hours but there’s no pay off until a second movie comes out. Which at the time I’m writing this hasn’t been confirmed if one will be made. So it was frustrating I was upset how it ended, but I get it. It is what it is.
