Another 10! YAY!!!!! I enjoyed the hell out of this movie. It’s a visual master piece. Following a lone samurai in his pursuit to kill an army he views as misguided and dangerous to his dreams of a better society, you get the sense almost immediately how determined he is to achieve this goal. From that point on the story has this clear direction of where to go next while not knowing what will happen next. The fight scenes are incredible as well. It’s clear this project is important to the director and main actor who’ve tackled this series already before back in the early 2010s. It’s swift, powerful, mesmerizing, and jaw dropping in some moments. That’s also thanks to the supporting characters and stunt team who really helped in making this look as real as possible. Each character has purpose, their interactions with Kenshin have purpose as well. It all brings it together in the end with a big fight scene and revelation. It all sets the tone that’s going to be a second movie. 10/10 for a first movie that sets the origin of what story is being told. As I haven’t seen the older movies and not sure if they are connected at all. Either way it’s an experience you won’t forget. The style is so in your face and pretty you can’t help but look at it. Fucking love this movie.
