This movie certainly serves its purpose that’s for sure. What I enjoyed so much about the first one was how intriguing and interesting it all was. I remember watching the first one very well. Felt like I was watching a bad porno until it went the most wrong it ever could. Art as a horror villain is so out there too. Not talking is a fairly general characteristic for many villains in horror movies, but Art has something about him that’s just wrong. While some villains kill it often feels as if Art is playing with his food literally. The many different ways you can enjoy cutting people up in probably in this film. As someone who never really thinks about that sort of thing ever, its always jarring when things start getting out of hand in ways you don’t expect. The brutality of it all is like the seasoning to it. I was warned about bone breaking scenes and I’ll warn you here too. Movie deaths are easy for me to put aside and get ready for the next one, I genuinely was scared whenever art came in. He was unpredictable. I wasn’t able to guess what was gonna happen. I’ll have to watch the first one again too, there’s seems to be this sort of b plot that could very well be a red herring, but if a third one comes out I’m sure we’ll get some answers. One of the other many things I enjoy about these movies is it’s sort of supernatural effect. Art can’t seem to die. Even Highlander couldn’t kill him. That being said there’s a part a character has a thing happen to them, and it’s just been making me think what kind of world they live in where the rules worked like that. I digress, I actually enjoyed the hell out of this movie. Would absolutely recommend if you’re into horror or say you are. Especially slashers. 8/10
