Wow what a show. Having been a very long Wu Tang fan like most who see the show, there’s obvious interest. That being said I never went super deep into the history of the group nor the individuals. Going into I was sure that it was going to be dramatic much like Atlanta by Donald Glover, but there seems to be a point of accuracy that ultimately shines in this series. Each person being represented I feel does an insanely good job of representing what these relationships could’ve looked like before they became Wu Tang. The problems of systematic racism, gangs, and how it all lead up to where they are today. This first season really following the story of Rakeem and his family. The pressures of dealing drugs on your block and watching the homies drop like flies either for revenge of a robbery, or police killing an innocent man to prove their point of power. Also breaking into how the justice system failed people of color in NY during the crack epidemic. It feels straight out of a movie, but when you do the research it’s pretty accurate to the events these people went through. I’m really excited to start the second season and wish I jumped on this bandwagon sooner. Huge 10 for sure.
