While "Silent House" turns out to be neither a masterpiece nor a true genre highlight - it is, however, an improvement over the original, as well as a tense, eerie, darkly atmospheric, competently realized and technically impressive psychological horror thriller that benefits decisively from Elizabeth Olsen's excellent performance.
