„Tore tanzt” director Katrin Gebbe has succeeded in creating a provocative mix of “Systemsprenger” and “We need to talk about Kevin“ with her second feature film, “Pelikanblut”, which uses the stylistic devices of horror cinema to raise the explosive question of how far motherhood goes and how far it goes may. Anyone who thought that only Ari Aster could do “horror in the light”, as he showed it so impressively in “Midsommar”, is wrong - “Pelikanblut” is at least as memorable on this level and maybe even a bit more subversive.
