This show is a very entertaining watch, but oh my goodness, it is so incredibly flawed. The adaptation is, I would guess, so literal that it feels very artificial. Acting is very poor apart from Hugh Laurie and Elizabeth Debicki. There were scenes of Jonathan Pine that they might as well told Tom to just laugh it off instead of saying anything meaningful. I’m really surprised with how well-received this show is. Golden Globes and Primetime Emmys. To top it off, as an Egyptian, I was shocked with how sloppy they were in representing Egypt and Egyptian. Accent is off. Costumes are off. I get that filming in Egypt is hard, but at least do your homework.
