First of all, seriously? They decided it would be a good idea to put a giant engine on Earth and drag the planet somewhere else? What the heck? And then the guy is about to leave, and the girl spills the beans? She doesn’t say a word when she’s with him, and when she finally speaks, it’s to mess things up.
I can’t believe the protagonist’s grandfather bribes the police with a cigarette! Hahaha, what a crazy movie! It’s a good film, the action scenes and slow motion are great (cough cough, learn from this, Snyder), but the story is insanely absurd. Putting engines to move Earth to another solar system, and it’s going to take over 2,000 years to reach the destination? What madness! So much can go wrong. Plus, it doesn’t respect any science. The sun will expand and die? Yes, but that’s not going to happen in just 300 years, it will take billions of years.
In summary, it’s a good movie, worth watching, but the science fiction isn’t scientific at all, it’s fantastical.
