I loved the chemistry between Kristen Stewart and ChloË Sevigny, their real-life weirdness and intensity made their connection in this movie feel so genuine. I’m pretty sure they’re real-life besties too, and it shows, they just fit together perfectly💚
I also loved how the film portrayed Lizzie Borden as a quiet, deeply internal woman, someone who’s enduring unbearable tension and repression, all locked inside her mind, until she finally snaps.
I usually hate feeling empathy toward real-life killers in movies, but it’s impossible not to when the story is told this way, especially with actors this magnetic and complex.
We need more stories about problematic women in cinema, their lives are often the most layered, messy, and fascinating ones to explore.
