A fun and goofy premise, but it wears out the gimmick pretty fast. It’s hard to understand why she falls for him, when there is little character change through either text or subtext. Most of the issues are a result of antiquated storytelling and misogynistic tropes, however. Hepburn is as charming as ever, and the premise is fanciful. Just don’t expect anything more than a movie dripping with 60s sentiment.
