I'm gaining a deep appreciation for Alan J. Pakula. I've realized that when I think about what a "70s movie" is like, his Paranoia Trilogy is one of the first things that come to mind. Just bleak and full of despair, everyone seems so small in the shadow of the powers that be. Glad we left that feeling in the 70s.
