The film follows Mike Lazaridis, a shy but brilliant engineer, and Doug Fregin, his quirky business partner, as they develop a prototype for a new kind of mobile device—a phone that could send and receive email.

They partner with Jim Balsillie, an aggressive businessman who sees massive potential in their idea. Together, they launch BlackBerry, and it quickly becomes a global phenomenon, transforming the way the world communicates.

However, as the company grows, so do internal tensions, market pressure, and regulatory scrutiny. Over time, hubris, competition (especially from Apple and Android), and strategic missteps lead to BlackBerry’s spectacular decline
