Whoever decided to write a bad review on this movies, sorry but I do jot agree with you. Yes, Tyler Perry tends to be overly drammatic in his storytelling and writing but it is a movie afterall that aims at moving people by telling a very realistic story. A storyline about hardship, struggle, society issues, single mothers, mental health, and prejudice. I found this movie to be very raw and difficult to watch, I was angry one moment and sad the next, and that should tell you how it all came together nicely. Acting, especially Taraji, wow! Amazing! She delivered. Supporting cast did their best job too. Script was made of many monologues or conversations between two characters, and even if overly worded, they really tied the story or, I would say, made the story. There aren’t many settings and the second part of the movie is all mainly in one single space and still feels very dynamic. Overall, really do recommend this movie for whomever likes drammatic movies. The twist at the end will let you shocked, confused and heartbroken. I, honestly, still didn’t completely understand it due to some contradictions previous to the reveal but I think I have figured it out at the end. Watch it, Feel it and just take it for what it is and appreciate it for what it is trying to showcase as an overall message.
