A powerful message. The story is nicely told, nearly abstract in a way but with clear intent. It is a movie that touches themes that are in line with the society we live in today. Considering it is based on a true story it really touches your heart, it is about struggling in adolescence, trying to find yourself and be free to express yourself, about friendship, family and the search of who you are. It does portray bullisim and suicide which is sonething we are faced on the news nearly every day, so it makes you wonder what is going wrong in the world. I could agree on photography, which was not great but if you look at it on a whole it is actually aesthetically pleasing. The story flows, script is well written, direction very personal and acting was great. Overall, I enjoyed the movie and in some scenes made me feel uncomfortable which means it did the job of catapulting us inside the story. There are many negative reviews which I honestly do not understand.
