I was expecting something completely different. By the looks of the poster and the plot summary, I was expecting a thriller action romance but nothing so drammatic. Generally Gabriele Muccino likes producing drammatic movies but very visually compelling pictures, and he definetly did that. The one thing missing was a believable plot. There were so many cliches and stereotypes that made me detach from the story. The main characters were nice and had chemistry, considering that the guy actors are originally Italian the acting was decent. Felt like a re-telling of Romeo and Juliet but with the less drastic ending eventhough it hit hard the same. I agree with some other reviews about the plot holes and unanswered questions: firstly, where is Jury gone? Secondly, did the sister not call her again after she didn’t return in the morning? Thirdly, what did she think by going ahead with the heist and running? Fourth, they clean the gateaway car and then leaves mountain of evidence in the boat. Lastly, hasn’t she heard of suitcase x-rays? I don’t know. I know its a movie but its not fantasy so at least make it make sense. There are so many other little buts that I question but then I would have to spoil the movie so I will leave them out. Overall, I was invested but most of the time just yelling at the TV, “what are you doing?” “Are you stupid?” “No way!” And covering my eyes because I was expecting the worst. Watch it for the ‘romance’ and the lovely scenery, thats it.
