A strong 9.4/10 for a Superman movie! This was such an enjoyable film that really captured the importance of who Superman is and why we all love him so much! This was a good Superman character as he was funny, kind, and powerful in his world.
What I enjoyed the most in this movie was the plot between Superman and Lex Luther as there was full hatred for one another like lex was full on hate to this man, almost like high evolutionary was in guardians of the galaxy 3 but on a human level. Nicholas Holt anger rage was set to the max and just made me appreciate lex more as a character almost inspired me to become him Lmaoo.
A lot of characters I loved seeing like guy gardner aka green lantern which some people would disagree that he isn’t an accurate green lantern but his presence and humor was great. Hawkgirl was so cute and growing up watching Isabella Merced in her shows and movies hits differently as I see her take on bigger roles in her career. Mr.Terrific was awesome and brought the aura of intelligence and swag especially the jacket, seriously black white and red is such a perfect combo and everyone gotta agree with that. Jimmy was funny especially the interactions with lex’s girlfriend/secretary I believe but was a good side plot that helped with the overall plot of the Superman film.
A lot of other supporting characters was there and presence was just as good to this movie to keep us entertained but 2 biggest supporting characters really shined starting with Lois as the love interest to Superman as she was smart and determined in this film, sure she was a nuisance at times but brought the edge that past Lois lane characters missed out on. Now for the greatest supporting character that we all love without a doubt goes to Krypto!! He was just the best as he was strong, hilarious, and just a great sidepup to Superman, we can see why he loves/hates him at times and can understand the rage he gave to lex in that one scene 🤣.
James Gunn deserves his flowers as this was another great movie directed by him and can’t wait to see more of Superman in other projects especially team ups with other DC characters. But for now this was a good standalone movie that doesn’t need to show the future just yet, give it time and let each project stand on its own without thinking of continuity, that’s the problem marvel is having right now with too much content and barely giving story time and development which is what this movie succeeded in. Even though they hinted the future with another character at the end of the film, that’s okay as it was a small detail just like the cameo that we got in the middle that shows the universe is connected and was like a reminder. Overall great movie, would watch it 2-3 more times for sure and above all continue to look up to SUPERMAN!!
