The devil of Hell’s Kitchen has returned more brutal and intense than before! This was such a great 4 months of binge watching the Netflix daredevil 3 seasons leading up to the born again series in March and ending today but will lead to season 2!! I really enjoyed this season as so much has happened throughout every episode and kept me hooked and engaged with the show.

Episode 1: a strong and emotional 9/10!!! Felt like a law and order episode into the MCU with frame shots and intense moments throughout the episode. Starting off with the 3 best friends of Matt Karen and Foggy being all happy and enjoying time at Josie, leading up to a rescue attempt for Foggy’s brother and all ending up with Foggy getting killed It was so so heartbroken seeing a character return this season and end up getting killed! Happens to many times like with Han Solo, Maria Hill and now Foggy!! Was upsetting but brought the tone for this series especially with Matt dealing with this loss and adapting to the new world as he gave up being daredevil.

Episode 2: 8.3/10 was decent with more dialogue and storytelling of Matt’s life as a lawyer helping clients out versus fisk’s life as the new mayor of NYC. We also get the intro of Hector aka the one and only White Tiger which he is awesome and sad to hear the actor himself passed away in 2023 due to cancer.

Episode 3: 9.7/10 one of the best thus far with intense court scenes & dialogue with moments that left me actually tearing up. It was good seeing Matt Murdock be in full lawyer mode without being daredevil and having trust in the law system providing justice as Foggy would have wanted. We also get to learn more about Hector as the White Tiger and the morals of wearing a mask and helping the city versus letting the police do there job which was the true message and discussion of this episode alone that left us thinking is there good vs evil in humans and how we truly feel about vigilantes and their motives.

Episode 4: after an intense episode last week I was expecting Matt to suit up and “avenge” hector’s death by looking into his murder and soon teaming up with Frank aka punisher to find the real killer. Granted I was half wrong where it was more dialogue and hidden messages about how the law system is sometimes unjust and can affect the city unless treated right. We did get to see a funny but heartwarming dialogue with Matt and the return of Frank Castle as he’s still the same one from season 2 and can see his involvement to make Matt rage out soon. Another factor of this episode that was mid was the continuation of Vanessa and Fisk dealing with marriage counseling which can be boring now but does lead to questioning what Fisk did to Adam which we learned in the end.

Episode 5 is definitely a good one for me personally as it somewhat was a filler episode stepping away from the season plot and having its own episode that involves Matt as himself stopping a bank heist from an Irish criminal group. There was so much MCU Easter eggs more so with the return of Kamala Khan’s father playing a role and teaming up with Matt to stop the robbers. It felt like a st.Patrick’s day special circled around Matt Murdock’s world with the Irish gang on St.Patrick’s day and ironic that it’s released a week after the holiday in March.

Episode 6 had the best fight scenes of this season thus far!! Seeing Daredevil return once again that’s right in his full suit after 5 episodes, after the death of Foggy, to head off to save the little girl Angela, niece of Hector from episode 3, from Muse killing her in the ally. Muse intro into the season is getting there as we learn he’s been killing people to use their blood for paints which is insane and deserves a proper beatdown for sure.

Episode 7 brought the end of Muse story arc which was like 2 episodes but could have been fleshed out more to the final episodes. He ended up shot multiple times by Heather which I thought she was gonna be killed by muse himself but they actually flipped the script on this. I really wish they had explored muse/sebastian more throughout the episode like more of a backstory and his motives for killing people for his art which I guess was his way of having his art be shown more, like actually have people talk about humans be seen which in his mind was to kill people and be on the news which in a way he succeeded but could have been explored more like Dex aka bullseye was in season 3.

Episode 8 brought a crazy beginning of a 2 part season finale with the return of season 3 villain, Matt making a sacrificial play, and character development. What I found the most hilarious in this episode alone was discovering Adam surviving the Fisk beatdown 2 episodes ago only to get brutally shot several times by VANESSA! I felt that moment was dragged for too long as we all knew at that moment Vanessa was going to kill Adam because we know she would not do anything to Fisk just yet, finale will say something different as we reveal a lot about Vanessa that she’s the mastermind as expected especially the one that sent bullseye to kill Foggy.

Now the final episode of this season that ended in pure blood bash almost half of the episode as we not only got Matt to suit up as daredevil but we get Frank Castle back as the punisher bringing pure rage and bloodshed to the task force which was so badass!! There was even more blood bash when Fisk brutally killed the captain of the police which was INSANE for Disney to show that and I LOVED IT! Had me definitely off my couch when it happened!! The kingpin of crime is back in his white suit and leading the task force and city of NY to go after any vigilantes in any way possible which is problematic for many of our street heroes because they have to watch themselves of the task force that could kill them! This sets up season 2 of daredevil possibly leading the people he knows and are not loyal to mayor Fisk to rebel against kingpin and fight back.
In conclusion I love the series daredevil and glad we are getting more and more of him in the next years to come including a punisher special presentation that will explore Frank Castle also fighting the task force in his own way. This will give me an opportunity to watch the punisher series that was on Netflix to prepare for that so can’t wait! The devil of Hell’s Kitchen ain’t done yet and ready for more!! R.I.P to Hector and the actor Kamar de los Reyes himself that portrayed him & past away due to cancer in 2023 as the greatest one and only 🤍🐯🐅🙏🏽
