A 6 year trilogy which Venom stated as 1 year in their universe is now complete in this final movie for Venom. This movie ended up pretty mid with too many new characters that was unnecessary to the whole story of Eddie & venom taking on a bigger threat which is knull and his symbiotic monsters called xentophage and they barely added to the plot of the movie. We had the expectation of getting an introduction of a multiversal threat that is also the king of symbiotes that would do some damage that led to venom’s end and lead to a future film with Spiderman that they should foreshadow more! But that was half the case as they totally reconned the idea of Spiderman and just kept the story in their own universe.

Bad characters included Martin & his family who was really just lame, a whole 10 min of film wasted with them driving to Las Vegas with Eddie and just talking nonsense. When I found out that the father was named Martin played by the same actor who played the lizard in the amazing Spiderman movie, I had an assumption that they would make him Martin li who becomes Mr.Negative from the spiderman game who kinda has symbiote powers and it would be an origin story to him if he lost his family in the final battle. Unfortunately that did not happen at all in the film and the whole family was there for comedy which is not needed! Sony already made venom a comedic in the second film and still continued so that family was just a waste of film!

Also, the man who was in a secret room in the shadows that was giving orders to general Strickland and never revealed who he was, like wtf! Speaking of Strickland, I stand with his reasoning to capture Eddie & venom to protect the planet, if I’m a military man who found out that this man has the potential to bring a dangerous threat to my world and destroy all life, I would stop that from happening. Granted I wouldn’t kill Eddie or the symbiote because they would just need to remain separated for the codex to not be formed for knull to escape. There was no need to try and kill so that was the one bad decision Strickland tried to do that I didn’t like but other than that he was a decent character.

The scientists in the underground lab in Area 51 that only cared about the symbiotes and asked if he collected the samples after Strickland’s team were killed by the xentophage this was Dr. Payne who I assumed had quite a mystery with lightning from when she was strucked as a kid and killed her brother, another plot that was completely random and wasn’t needed for this final venom film. It did get resolved in the end when she gets a symbiote becoming agony, not scream as they look similar but different colors and rescues the other scientist Sadie who carries a Christmas tree brooch with no background but I will allow it because she was cute and got a symbiote suit in the final battle.

There was so so much random and pointless moments that happened in this film which was unnecessary like the casino moment and ESPECIALLY the dance with Ms.Chen and venom in Vegas! You are on the run and can be tracked if you are transformed!! Just why?! The only thing that saved this movie was the final battle in Area 51 where everything comes together with the symbiotes merging with the scientists to fight of the xentophage and leading of to venom creating the ultimate sacrifice to kill them off and protect Eddie. Now that was emotional once we lost venom and remembering the previous movies that we’ve been through, a smaller version of the end credit that Deadpool and Wolverine did or like Furious 7 with Paul walker.

Overall, I had a feeling this movie would be mid but still had a great time watching this final chapter with my friends as we always watched the venom films opening weekend. Hopefully we get to see knull soon as they revealed he will return soon because he is a multiversal threat and could happen in spiderman 4. Sony has not been doing well with these live action spinoff spiderman movies lately especially with Morbius & Madame Web being complete failures and now with this, although it’s better then these 2 and has a trilogy, movie could have been way better because I need to know how this will all connect in the end like will they merge with marvel universe soon, will they confirm it to be Andrew Garfield’s world and finally give us his Spiderman 3 or is it all a waste of time?! I don’t know and the kraven movie in 2 months won’t make anything better! That’s all I can say for now and let’s see what the future holds for these universes, the many characters out there and especially for the great VENOM!! 🕷️🖤😈🥃
