A solid 6.2/10 as it was a well paced movie with character interactions, story arcs that was left unsolved in previous marvel movies that seemed to connect together in this Captain America movie but could had been written in a different movie.
Brave New World really felt more like a huge part 2 of a television show as the quality did not feel like a movie as well as dialogue and scenes. It makes sense for this case as this is a continued story from the Disney plus show Falcon and the winter show as we continue the story of Sam Wilson as the new Captain America as well as his sidekick Joaquin Torres as the new Falcon and seeing them take on new obstacles together. We also have the return of Isaiah Bradley the black super soldier from the Vietnam war that went through so much pain over the years. What i didn’t like about this film connecting to the show is that they add dialogue for those that didn’t see the show so they could be lost in who these 2 new characters are or even how deep the connection goes between Sam and Isaiah or even Sam’s journey to become Captain America.
Speaking of connecting another MCU project, Brave new world felt like a part 2 of the 2008 Incredible Hulk movie as some characters returned to this film and had a second plot story that involves the return of Thaddeus Ross who is the new president of the United States who later becomes the Red Hulk through the help of another character that was from the hulk movie. This character is Sam Sterns aka Mr.Blue that tried to help Bruce banner cure the hulk and ended up having hulk’s blood spilled onto his head and mutated his brain. So as a revenge plot, Sterns who is called “the leader” helped Ross with his heart problem that he had for years by giving him pills to help his conditions but those pills had gamma radiation that was affecting him and he waited for the right moment to get Ross angry in a public event so he could rage out and show the world who he is. Granted this did happen in the third act and the leader technically won by ruining Ross life when he became red hulk that led to him being locked up.
This is why i say this is a part 2 of the hulk movie because of these characters returning with a revenge plot and bringing a new hulk to the world. What I find crazy and many fans see this is how they take a Captain America with no super serum to fight an angry and more powerful red hulk against each other and expect it to make sense and be awesome. Granted it was a pretty cool battle with Sam using the wings to take down red hulk but questioned how sam could physically fight like this but like most Disney movies, he talks it out with hulk and everything is happy again….well sort of because he gets sent to the raft.
Overall, Brave new world was a decent movie, definitely not the best and is divided by the fandom who felt Sam should not be the new Captain America or he should have taken the serum or should have not let the MCU go this long but my opinion is that I liked Sam being Captain regardless of his color but because of his virtues and the person he is as he tries to do good in the world in the best way he can. That’s why Steve chose him to take on the mantle and you can’t argue about that. I had a good time watching this film, great start to a Captain America weekend with my friends and I can’t wait to see how much more the MCU goes from here with those characters growing out and definitely leading into a multiversal war that seems to happen with the post credit that was revealed that the leader knows something is coming. 💯🇺🇸✨
